Trinbutes:
During a funeral of a patient who had been with us for 2 ½ years his nephew paid a wonderful tribute to the staff, and the Hospice .
He said he could describe us in 4 words; Family, Friends, Home and Dignity. He said we were all those things to all of his family, but particularly to the patient.
"Thank you all so much for your excellent care and kindness to my Nana. We are all very grateful and feel very lucky that she was able to spend her last months at St Joseph's."
"To all the Hospice staff that looked after my lovely brother. Your care and attention gave us an extra three years after being diagnosed with three weeks to live, we are very grateful for the precious time we had with him.
Best Wishes"
On behalf of our family I would like to thank everyone at St Josephs for the kindness and care they gave to our mum and ourselves during her last days.
We had hoped to have more time at St Josephs with mum but that was not to be, but we believe that because she felt safe and secure and she was able to let herself go peacefully and quietly and thanks to all of you, with love and dignity. You are all marvellous. Special thanks to Bernie who made us all feel so welcome and Amanda who cared for mum in her last 24 hours.
Sincere thanks and best wishes.
Thank you all so much for the love, warmth and care you gave my mum while she was at the Hospice. You also helped her to maintain her dignity right until the very end. Its not just the amazing job that you do that I want to thank you for its for the amazing people you are.
Special thanks to Linda and Clare who were working the night before my mum passed away- you gave me such strength (and pizza!) and looked after me to.
A big thank you to Barbara too- what a special lady you are.
With much love
“I can’t thank you enough for taking [my husband] in when our family was in crisis. I know it was only meant to be temporary, but somehow it became exactly the right place for him to be. He was loved and cared for by your wonderful staff and was made to feel at home – a welcome that was extended to all the family. Long may your special work continue”
The wife of a patient
“I had always known that the care given at the Hospice was something quite out of the ordinary but nothing frankly had prepared me for what we were privileged to witness. I know it is obviously different when it is a very close relative but nevertheless, I think that the actual reality was even greater than I had expected to see…I simply had to write and confirm that we all feel a great sense of gratitude and admiration for the wonderful work you staff do”.
The son of a patient
To all the staff (day and night), we would just like to say thank you all so much for the love and care you gave our mum during her stay with you. You couldn’t have done anymore for her or us during our stay also : words cannot express our gratitude to everybody.
All our love
“Thank you so much for the wonderful tender loving care and friendship shown to[my husband] his last few weeks were made much happier and bearable because of you all. We will never forget you”
