Specialist shop for kids and babies

Shoppers in Southport need look no further for that last minute Christmas gift as the Jospice shop on Lord Street has been unveiled as a specialist children’s shop.

The Jospice shop is also a great place to drop off any old toys and clothes, making way for new ones this Christmas. Or for that New Year clear out - all donations will be very welcome.

The shop, at 631 Lord Street, is managed by Beth Law alongside a team of dedicated volunteers and now sells a wide range of toys and books, baby and children’s wear, as well as baby equipment, such as prams and cots.

With the focus purely on the baby and kids market, the shop has been redesigned internally and provides the local community with a unique charity shopping experience that will draw people in from further afield.

St. Joseph’s Hospice (or Jospice) operates a network of nine shops across Merseyside which raise over £100k each year for the hospice so they are a very valuable source of income for the charity.

The shop will continue to accept donations for other goods as these will then be distributed among other St. Joseph’s Hospice shops.

Beth Law, shop manager in Southport, said: "We receive so many fantastic children’s goods in near perfect condition that we wanted to offer our customers a dedicated shop for this wonderful collection and the location of our Southport shop is perfect for it.

“Come in and take a look around – we’ll be open all week until 5pm on Friday 23rd December. Don’t forget us in the New Year either as we’ll be stocking a wide range of seasonal children’s and baby wear throughout the year as well as accepting any donations you can spare. Every penny raised goes towards caring for patients at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Thornton so you’ll be supporting a vital local charity too.”
