JOSPICE NEW YEAR WALK Saturday 16th May 2015 - register on the day from 11am.

You will have probably read in the press about a further delay in the completion of the new Thornton relief road. This is due to frost and heavy rain in the early part of February. Whilst the stretch of road MIGHT be ready by the end of March, we have been working closely with Balfour Beatty and feel that for Health and Safety reasons it would be much better to delay the walk for Jospice into May. The date that Balfour Beatty has given to us is SATURDAY 16th MAY. Same timings from 11am – 2.30pm
Plenty of parking available for those walking on the new road.
We really do apologise for the inconvenience but the safety of all our supporters taking part is upmost in our mind. If you have registered already please note the new date. If you have registered and unable to take part on that date we will happily refund your registration fee.
We do appreciate that the date keeps rolling back but as you can see the construction of the road is taking longer than we all thought

During the last month some problems have occurred that have resulted in a delay in part of the constructionof the road,as highlighted in the press release, and therefore the stretch of the road that would have been used was not ready in time for the 11th January.
Pat Murphy from Jospice said “Its very disappointing that we are having to reschedule the date for this event, but we understand completely the difficulties that Balfour Beatty are having hat the moment. We want the event to be as enjoyable as possibly for our supporters, and also the safety of everyone is paramount on the day. The idea is for everyone to see the fully constructed road just before it opens to the traffic”
A spokesman for Balfour Beatty as said we are really disappointed that there is a delay in the final part of the construction of the road,and for everybody's safety it would be beneficial to all to delay the walk and we are working closely with our contractors and also Jospice to reschedule a date as soon as possibly.
It is now looking as if the walk will take place in May, and anyone who has already registered your name will be contacted by e mail and your registration fee transferred over.
